There are a couple of different types of 3D printing. Intersections
between them are many though each has their benefits and drawbacks.

- Additive
- FDM or FFF additive printing
- this is the most common type of 3D printer that folks purchase
- MSLA/SLA additive printing
- High detail using resin
- SLS additive printing
- looks like sand but isn’t
- FDM or FFF additive printing
- Subtractive
- CNC subtractive printing
- carving metal, wood, whatever
- Engraving
- leather, glass, and whatever
- CNC subtractive printing
This grouping is about FDM/FFF printers and other links will be created to give opinions on resin printers and options.
I am not planning on adding anything dealing with CNC, Engraving, or SLS as I don’t own any of those types nor plan on adding them to my farm.
